“Inside Matilda’s Dilapidated Subruban Mindscape” or Matilda and the Menace for a shorter title, was a fun short directed by my good friend and producing partner, Sam Ross. I was tasked with designing the inside of a girl’s head, shared by her roommate. Creating a sophisticated yet messy space on a shoestring budget was a unique and fun challenge.
To prevent the breakaway plate from sliding away on impact, we put honey on the back of the plate. I also added the green wall to add some color to the otherwise tan room.

The wall art (done by Vanessa Cox) is done with wall-safe markers, that can come off when wiped down. It's one of my favorite tricks!
